Why should I install solar panels?

In recent years, solar technology has advanced significantly, resulting in more efficient and affordable panels than ever before. With the rising cost of energy and decreasing cost of solar panels, there has never been a better time to invest in a solar panel and battery system. By harnessing the power of the sun, you can save money on your energy bills while reducing your carbon footprint. Don't miss out on this opportunity to make a positive impact on both your wallet and the environment

How affordable is solar energy?

For a typical 3-bedroom house, the system would include:

  • 8 x 400-450W solar panels
  • all installation and scaffolding costs
  • 10 year battery and inverter warranty
  • costs of virtual and technical surveys

For the system above and a 5.12kW battery, the price would differ.

Are solar panels suitable for my home?

Whether solar panels are the right option for your home depends on several factors, including the size and orientation of your roof, as well as its pitch angle.

Size Generating more energy depends on the number of panels installed on the roof. Typically, an average solar panel system covers around 15-20m2 of roof space.

Direction - The optimal roof orientation for solar panels is south-facing and unobstructed by trees or buildings. Although solar panels can still be installed on east or west-facing roofs, their energy production may be lower than that of a south-facing roof.

Pitch- Solar panels require a diagonal roof as we do not offer installations for flat roofs. The recommended pitch angle is between 30-40º, which is the typical angle of most UK rooftops.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do solar panels work?

Solar panels are composed of layers of semi-conducting materials, typically silicon. They absorb sunlight and generate an electrical current that is then converted from direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC) by an inverter. This AC electricity can be used to power your home appliances, charge your battery, or sold back to the grid.

  • What do the panels look like?

Our solar panels not only perform exceptionally well but also have a sleek design, featuring black panels that measure approximately 1.8m by 1.1m.

  • Will my solar panels work when it’s not sunny?

Solar panels can generate electricity from daylight, not just direct sunlight. Therefore, even on cloudy days, your solar panels will still function and produce electricity.

  • I have some shading, can I still have panels fitted?

The amount of shading on your roof can impact the performance of solar panels as they are installed in connected "strings". Shading on one panel can affect the performance of others in the same string. However, if there is shading, we can install the panels in unshaded areas and use microinverters. Microinverters are individual inverters installed on each panel, which connect to a central unit, allowing for optimal performance even with shading.
